How to get Insanity and P90X for Free and Lose 30 lbs

So you're interested in trying P90X and Insanity? You might be looking to get jacked and build muscle or get lean and drop 30 lbs in 90 days. These two programs are two of the most INTENSE workout programs I've ever attempted to complete. They will also get you the best results and fastest weight loss of any workout program or diet out there. I'm going to share with you a secret on how to get both of these workouts for free.

Why Insanity with Shaun T?

Insanity is all about the jumping and crazy cardio
Insanity  is a crazy cardio burn session for 6 days per week for 60 days. It comes with a workout schedule and a meal plan.

Spoiler alert: every single day on the schedule has some crazy cardio. Unlike P90X which has weight training on some days Insanity works in muscle building with the cardio.

There are crazy high jumps, a ton of burpees and some pushups.

What equipment and space is needed for Insanity?

It is all body weight exercises so there is no equipment required whatsoever. You will need a space the size of about 3 yoga mats side by side but if you have less space you can still do it with modifications.

What is the Insanity trainer, Shaun T, like?

Shaun T is different in Insanity compared to his dance programs - he's more focussed on the athletics and a lot, um, more masculine?

Shaun T was so motivating - when he yells "run as fast as you can!" I actually listened to him as if he was really there!

Within 10 minutes of starting each workout the sweat was POURING off me. I have never had this happen before so I was astonished. Expect to get your heart rate WAY up in this program. My heart rate was often up to 180 bpm or more.

Who should and should not do Insanity?

These workouts are not for people with knee or joint issues though. If you want to drop some weight quickly or love stress-busting cardio blasts this is the perfect workout.

If you're already in good shape and want to push yourself to the best shape of your life Insanity is the right choice.

This is also a great choice if you're training for a race and want to get your cardio up through the winter and start the spring off in the best shape of your life.

What is an easier version of Insanity?

If you're new to working out you might want to start with Focus T-25 which is a lower impact version of Insanity with the same trainer (Shaun T) and no equipment required.

Why P90X with Tony Horton?

P90X  was intense but I was able to complete the whole program and dropped a whopping 30 lbs in 90 days. And yes, I was in the best shape of my life!

The program comes with a nutrition plan and 3 different workout plans - you get to choose the workout plan based
P90X is a mix of weight lifting and cardio
on your goals. I chose the "classic" plan which is a mix of cardio and weight training.

What is the trainer, Tony Horton, like?

I find Tony Horton totally hilarious and engaging - I would talk back to him as if we were having a conversation together.

Not everyone loves Tony though, some people find him too random.

Why is P90X so effective?

What I loved about this program is you work different muscle groups each day so you can really push yourself  because you know you're not going to be working that muscle group again for a few days. The workouts were hard but they all had modification options (or easy options).

If you can't even do a single pull up or push up (like me when I started!) you can still do this program.

There are enough videos that I never got bored with the workouts or felt like I was doing them over and over. The only video you do a lot is Ab Ripper X - I memorized that video! But you learn to love Ab Ripper because you get better and better at it.

Who should or should not do P90X?

The downside of this program is it's a huge time commitment - some of the workouts are an hour and a half!

If you don't have that kind of time try the 30 minute version of P90X called P90X3

P90X3 is still considered an advanced program though.

If you are new to working out you may want to start with P90 which is more of an beginner program and lower impact with the same trainer - Tony Horton.

To get the most out of the workout program I drink Shakeology after the workouts which is both a recovery drink and a meal replacement with veggies packed in. The cheapest way to get Shakeology is as a P90X Challenge Pack.
